MEMBER CODE OF CONDUCT
Last Updated: October 3, 2026
This Member Code of Conduct (“Code”) applies to members and participants using the Business Golf Club Service offered by Pierce Patrick, doing business as Business Golf Club (“BGC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). The Code forms part of the BGC Terms of Service. Violations may result in warnings, restrictions, suspension, or removal from BGC.
The point of Business Golf Club is simple: put good people together for enjoyable rounds of golf and let genuine relationships develop. Members should help make every foursome feel welcoming, professional, relaxed, and safe.
1. MEMBER RESPONSIBILITY AND ACCOUNTABILITY
1.1 Be Honest. Provide truthful and reasonably accurate information about your identity, professional background, golf experience, availability, and other information used for membership or matching. Do not impersonate another person or materially misrepresent who you are.
1.2 Follow the Rules. Comply with applicable law, the BGC Terms of Service, this Code, and the rules and instructions of any golf course or venue.
1.3 Be Reliable. If you confirm a round, treat the tee time as a commitment. If your plans change, notify BGC as early as possible and preferably at least 48 hours before the tee time. Repeated late cancellations or no-shows may result in restrictions or removal.
2. RESPECTFUL INTERACTIONS
Members must treat one another, BGC personnel, course employees, guests, and other players with respect. The following are prohibited:
- harassment, threats, intimidation, stalking, bullying, coercion, or unwanted advances;
- discriminatory, hateful, degrading, or abusive conduct directed at a person or protected group;
- sexual harassment, unwanted sexual comments or contact, or sharing sexual or explicit content without consent;
- fraud, deception, theft, extortion, impersonation, or deliberate manipulation;
- pressuring a member to continue a conversation, meeting, business discussion, or personal interaction after the member has indicated they are not interested; and
- conduct that creates an unreasonable safety risk or materially disrupts the experience of the group.
Members should respect boundaries. If another member asks you to stop contacting them or declines an invitation, pitch, or conversation, respect that decision.
3. BUSINESS CONVERSATION WITHOUT THE HARD SELL
Business conversation is welcome. Aggressive prospecting is not. BGC exists to create authentic relationships, not to turn every tee box into a sales meeting.
Unless the other member clearly welcomes it, do not:
- repeatedly pitch products or services during or after a round;
- send mass or unsolicited sales messages to members;
- scrape, compile, export, or use member information as a prospecting database;
- pressure members to invest, lend money, buy securities or cryptocurrency, join a fundraiser, or provide financial support;
- promote pyramid schemes, multi-level marketing programs, deceptive “business opportunities,” or similar schemes;
- use a BGC introduction to circumvent a member’s stated communication preferences; or
- misrepresent BGC’s endorsement of you, your company, product, service, investment, or opportunity.
Mutually welcomed follow-up, referrals, collaborations, and normal business conversation are encouraged. The standard is simple: relationships first, consent always.
4. GOLF ETIQUETTE AND COURSE CONDUCT
You do not need to be a scratch golfer to belong, but you do need to be a considerate playing partner. Members are expected to:
- follow the host course’s dress code, pace-of-play expectations, cart rules, and staff instructions;
- play safely and use reasonable care before swinging, hitting, driving a cart, or entering another player’s line or space;
- maintain an appropriate pace and be ready to play when it is your turn;
- repair ball marks and divots, rake bunkers where appropriate, and respect course property;
- avoid dangerous horseplay, intentionally reckless shots, club throwing, property damage, or aggressive confrontations;
- treat course employees, caddies, starters, marshals, beverage-cart staff, and other golfers respectfully; and
- handle disagreements over rules, handicaps, scoring, money games, or etiquette calmly and without disrupting the group.
Side games or wagers are not organized or guaranteed by BGC. Members are responsible for complying with applicable law and must never pressure another member to gamble or participate in a money game.
5. ALCOHOL, SUBSTANCES, AND TRANSPORTATION
If you choose to drink alcohol, do so responsibly. Intoxication that creates unsafe, abusive, disruptive, or embarrassing conduct is not acceptable. Illegal drugs are prohibited. Never operate a vehicle or golf cart while impaired, and do not pressure another member to drink or use any substance.
Members are responsible for arranging safe transportation to and from rounds and events. BGC does not undertake responsibility for a member’s transportation unless it expressly provides a specific transportation service in writing.
6. PRIVACY, CONFIDENTIALITY, AND MEMBER INFORMATION
BGC creates introductions, and trust matters. Do not misuse information you learn about another member. In particular, members may not scrape, sell, publish, or distribute member contact information; publicly share private conversations without permission; or disclose confidential business, financial, personal, or proprietary information that a reasonable person would understand was shared in confidence.
At the same time, BGC cannot guarantee that another member will keep information confidential. Do not disclose trade secrets, passwords, banking information, Social Security numbers, health information, or other highly sensitive information merely because someone is a BGC member.
7. OFF-PLATFORM CONDUCT AND SAFETY
BGC is designed to lead to real-world interactions. Use reasonable judgment when meeting members, traveling to rounds, exchanging contact information, or continuing relationships outside BGC. Your participation in off-platform activities is voluntary.
BGC may take action based on credible reports of serious off-platform conduct involving another member, including harassment, threats, violence, fraud, stalking, dangerous behavior, or conduct that materially threatens member safety or community trust.
Unless BGC expressly states otherwise, BGC does not conduct criminal, credit, financial, professional-license, or other background checks and cannot guarantee the identity, conduct, financial condition, business credibility, intentions, or legitimacy of a member.
8. ATTENDANCE, CANCELLATIONS, AND NO-SHOWS
Before a round, BGC may ask whether you are available and interested in participating. It is perfectly fine to decline a proposed round. Once you confirm a tee time, however, the other players are counting on you.
If your plans change, notify BGC at least 48 hours before the scheduled tee time whenever reasonably possible. Late cancellations and no-shows can leave the group short, make it difficult to fill the spot, and may create nonrefundable course charges. Repeated late cancellations or no-shows may result in booking restrictions, suspension, removal, or responsibility for applicable unrecoverable charges as described in the Terms.
9. REPORTING CONCERNS
If you experience or observe conduct that may violate this Code, contact BGC at hello@businessgolf.club. For urgent danger, medical emergencies, threats of violence, or suspected criminal conduct requiring immediate assistance, contact local emergency services or law enforcement first.
When reporting a concern, provide enough detail for BGC to understand what happened. BGC may request additional information, preserve relevant records, speak with involved members, or take other reasonable steps to review the report. BGC will handle reports as discreetly as reasonably possible but cannot promise absolute confidentiality.
10. ENFORCEMENT
BGC may respond to a violation by issuing guidance or a warning; restricting future matches or bookings; removing a member from a specific round or event; requiring reimbursement of an unrecoverable charge where permitted by the Terms; temporarily suspending membership; permanently terminating membership; preserving evidence; or contacting a golf course, service provider, insurer, attorney, or law-enforcement authority when reasonably necessary.
Serious safety, fraud, harassment, or integrity concerns may result in immediate action without a prior warning. BGC may consider the severity, context, available evidence, prior history, impact on other members, and whether conduct appears intentional or repeated.
11. UPDATES
BGC may update this Code as the community grows. Material changes will be communicated as required by applicable law. Continued use of the Service after an updated Code becomes effective constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.
